This workshop will provide a practical overview of both the State and Federal regulations for disability access as it pertains to customers and employees. For Customers: Issues discussed will include who is a covered business, the basic principals of readily achievable, how the state building codes may differ from the Federal regulations, how to prevent a lawsuit and the protection provided by a CASp Inspection Report. For the employer: Issues discussed will include what type of disabilities qualify for protection, what constitutes reasonable accommodation and undue hardship and issues arising at the interview, hiring, employment and termination stages.
